hillm's wonderful world of cones

So what can you come up with if you have

  • a camera
  • 30 minutes
  • an overpowering desire to find cones?
(Oh, and I cheated. I used a car, too.)

These are all within a mile of my house.  Comments about the extensive amount of effort I put in here are unnecessary. It's quite amazing how many cones you can find in how little time.

(Added 1/19/2000) Even more cones, here!

OK, so they're not actually cones, but they're those silly barricades. I first noticed these because I thought it was bozotic that they were warning you that there's a curb here.

Well, that would appear to be a silly place to put a curb.

The story gets a bit deeper. This curb seems to have been dropped there as part of a battle between Los Altos and Mountain View. (Everything behind this curb is in Mountain View, essentially.)

Maybe it's a really wimpy attempt on the part of Los Altos to keep Mountain View people out.

Hmm, actually, on second though, those barricades say "City of Mountain View".  It looks like a really wimpy attempt by Mountain View to contain Los Altos.

Warning. There is a toilet.

A truck delivering a load of cones to one of my neighbors. There goes the neighborhood.
